Risk Mitigation Planning

Risk Mitigation Planning is designed to create a methodical approach to assessing a  Provider's capabilities relative to specific skills or categories of skills that are evaluated during the Supplier Selection process.  This tool is an essential part of the process to determine the award decision for the outsourcing of process activity to an outside concern.  The assumption, based on years of experience, is that no one Provider has the capabilities to be best in all categories being evaluated and that any award for outsourcing activities has some inherent risk.  Performing this level of assessment for all the appropriate Skill or Category elements allows the award decision maker(s) the information needed to understanding the impact of the Award process and to ensure actions are in place to mitigate any concerns as the project proceeds.
